Loan Officer Interview Q&A's

What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I work with them to understand what their short-term and ong-term goals are to direct them to the best mortgage solutions for them

What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
First time home buying can be an overwhelming experinece unless you understand what you need to do to plan for purchasing your first home. If you can understand 1. Loan to value (LTV) and save for the down payment 2. Credit score - work on getting or maintaining a solid credit score 3. Debt to income - understand how your monthly bills vs your monthly income effects what you can qualify for and how to manage your bills now so you can qualify for a mortgage.

Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
HARP Program with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. If you purchased or refiananced your home before May 2009 and Fannie Mae or Feddie Mac and are underwater, you can refinance under the HARP program

What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
One of the most difficult issues with the home loan process is to properly source funds for closing. I set the expectations upfront that all deposits have to be sourced and what are the appropriate sources that funds for closing can come from.

Summary of where you grew up: family, affiliations, college, high school, etc.
I grew up in Cincinnati Ohio, one of five children of the Gaspar family and we all worked together at our family grocery store. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati in their College of Business Administration and as the first woman president of Alpha Kappa PSI, I started the CSBS, an organization of all the presidents of business affiliated groups on campus to support the College of Business.

Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I am a Greek girl, and I love the Greek culture from dancing to cooking!
