How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?

I have been in the mortgage industry for seven years now. I was inspired to enter knowing that the Industry would recover and that people would still want to buy homes and refinance their current ones.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
New home buyers should definitely pay attention to their loan officer and his requests to provide documents in a timely manner. In this new lending environment, it's critical to make sure that your paperwork is completed promptly and that your supporting documentation is thorough and complete. They want to tell the story and prove they deserve the loan. Be sure to ask questions if there are things you don't understand as you don't want any surprises along the way.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
A borrower can be best prepared at application time with complete and accurate dates of employment and rental history. Once under application they can review the required document checklist and provide complete and thorough evidence that supports and proves your income and assets. Once you understand what's needed and you provide everything required you should experience a smooth underwrite.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I like helping people achieve their dream of home ownership. It's a life changing event for so many and it's a lot of fun, also.
