About Alex

I have been in the mortgage business since I graduated Loyola University--Chicago in June of 2004. I began my career knowing very little about the mortgage business but over the years have worked my way up to managing my own team. Even though the mortgage business has changed dramatically through the years, I have ben able to change with it, and succeed in this business.

Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I have been in the mortgage business since 2004. I entered this line of work because I believe helping someone with their mortgage is very important in life.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I really do not have a typical customer. They range from first time home buyers to owning several different properties. The typical question I get is "how hard is it to obtain a mortgage?"
How long have you been in the mortgage business? What awards have you won?
Ask them what their goals are and find the product that meets their goals.
What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
Since 2004. I have received the gold leaf award from Lending Tree and the Biggest Gainer (1st quarter) from Guaranteed Rate. I also started as an LO here and now run a team of 10 LOs.
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
Do not over extend yourself. Make sure you have enough money for not only the closing of the home but a reserve in case anything needs fixing. Owning a home always comes with additional cost.
Are you active in any local associations or community groups, and at what level? What goals and/or success have you helped these groups achieve?
Any paperwork that is requested, make sure to get it to your LO within 48 hours. We do not ask for paperwork because we want to, it's because we need to.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
When a customer calls me and says "thank you" for all my hard work and making the process easy.
I never thought I would make a career out of the mortgage business when I started. But after a while realized I am good at what I do.
