I currently hold an undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount in Psychology with an emphasis in Political Science as well as a dual MBA from LA Verne in Finance and Business Management. How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the mortgage business since 2003 and was inspired by the opportunity to help others with their finances. My father has been in the industry since 1985, so this business runs in my veins
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My typical customer comes from all walks of life, from college graduate to elderly couple looking to live more comfortably. I have serviced doctors, bankers, CEO's, VPs, CPA's, teachers, police officers, pharmacists, engineers, business owners, nurses, investors, and professionals in many other industries.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
It is imperative that I look at the customer's financial situation and debt position prior to advising the best loan situation. Without this information, we are only guessing and guessing is not what this business is about. I prefer to be accurate, so the customer can be comfortable with their decision.
How long have you been in the mortgage business? What awards have you won?
I have been in the business since 2003 and have won top 10 producer year over year from 2004-2007, again in 2009 and 2010, best customer service 2007, 2012, most FHA loans 2008
Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
I recently had a client who went to another lender to buy a condo in September of 2015. We had spoken before and I advised her of the best situation as well as what we could do. She decided that the other lender would be best for her. A couple of months later, she called me to tell me that they were having trouble approving her loan and the condo project. I immediately took a look at her scenario and discovered that it would not be a problem for us to complete her transaction. She kept the other loan open, just in case, and was going to go with whoever could close fastest. I was honored to be the one to close as I made sure to lock her loan in (the other lender didn't even bother), submitted the condo paperwork (processed and completed in less that 5 days) and we closed her two days before Christmas! The transaction took all of 16 days.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Most customers want to make sure that they are informed and that their loan will close with the numbers they expected. I make sure to do this by keeping in constant contact with all parties, calculating the income and assets appropriately and sharing the closing figures with the customer several times, including before they make the appointment to close escrow.
Are you active in any local associations or community groups, and at what level? What goals and/or success have you helped these groups achieve?
I am currently the President of the Leader's of Tomorrow within the Builder Industry of Riverside. This group is designed to help young leaders in the builder industry to gain leadership skills, network and take their business to the next stage. We have helped several leaders get promoted since our creation in 2009. In addition, I am the Secretary of NAHREP San Gabriel Valley, a group dedicated to helping the Hispanic community achieve homeownership. I am honored to work with the Board of Directors as they are all successful business owners and managers in real estate and lending. We have a lot of work to do, but I am ready for it and here to help real estate in any way I can.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
At present, I am very much involved in personal development, growth and getting better at everything I do. My most recent accomplishment is completing a relay from Huntington Beach to San Diego covering 188 miles. I'll be doing it again this year.
