About Chris

I joined Guaranteed Rate in May of 2015 as the Regional Manager in Orange County. I have been in the Mortgage Industry for over 22 years and have held every job imaginable from Loan Officer, Branch Manager, Sales Manager, VP of Business Development and owned my own company for almost 9 years. During that time, I have been helping clients obtain the best mortgage solutions the market has to offer. Along with helping over 1100 clients I call "friends", I have also spent time coaching and mentoring other Loan Originators to grow their business. I enjoy helping others learn how to prospect, cultivate and grow their business through Marketing Strategies with a specialization on CRM and Customer Retention platforms

I attended California State University, Northridge where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Marketing. Currently, I serve on a number of local charities and am deeply involved with 3 orphanages in Haiti, where I visit a few times a year and help bring awareness and opportunity to the amazing people of that country. In my spare time, nothing makes me happier than being with my wife of 22 years and my three children, ages 15, 20 and 27. If I can get away, I enjoy golf and traveling the country to see Hootie and the Blowfish or anything with Rob Thomas!

How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
24 years. I always loved Real Estate and have always been passionate about helping people understand how to make the right financial decisions!
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
The best advice I can give a first time homebuyer is work with a lender that is willing to spend time helping you understand the loan process, what loan programs are available for you, are there any special first time buyer incentives and most importantly, work with someone that is willing to take the time to walk you through every step, not just via email and text but on the phone and in person. Buying a home is a big financial step: understanding the process is critical to its success.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
The best advice for a smooth underwriting process is to understand that we have to prove to the lender you are worthy of their risk! There is a lot of questions that need to be covered during the process. It is always better to spend time early gathering your paperwork, answering questions quickly and being as proactive as you can during the process. It may seem like a lot of information, but the sooner we can address it and uncover the questions, the faster you can get your loan approved! It will make for a smoother closing!
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
The best part about my job is helping people make the RIGHT financial decisions for them. Every consumer has different needs and goals. Understanding which loan product is right for you and explaining the pros and cons of both allows the consumer the ability to choose the right loan for them. It is incredible when a buyer of a home realizes the information we provided was accurate and allowed them to choose the best loan for their family.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I am passionate about music and I travel the country with a good friend and sometimes my daughter to sing with Hootie and the Blowfish, Rob Thomas and Safety Suit!
