Jason and his team did an excellent job in providing my mortgage. This is the second mortgage I have originated through Guaranteed Rate and both times the customer service, responsiveness, and overall process - now incorporating very easy to use on-line IT - was great. I will continue to use Guaranteed Rate in the future as a result of the service and on-line tools available. Thank you Jason.

It's been my pleasure to work with someone like Jason Jesudoss over the last 8 years. I've had the opportunity to work with him on approximately 7 loans, and each one has gone efficiently because of Jason's knowledge and understand of the mortgage industry.

Jason interview Q&A

How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the mortgage business for over 11 years. I was lucky enough to stumble into the mortgage industry 6 months after college. I couldn\'t have scripted a better career path. I joined GRI back in 2004. I continue to have a successful career as a loan originator, recruiter, trainer, and branch manager. Ultimately I enjoy being a solutions provider; whether it\'s helping my clients achieve they dream of home ownership or helping one of my loan officers place a loan that can be considered outside the box.
How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
It\'s hard to comprehend the full extent of the evolution of the mortgage industry in the last 11 years. I came into the industry when the buzz word in the marketplace was \"predatory lending\". The amount of products available for clients in during this period, simply put, was too much. It was the wild, wild, west. The regulators failed to do their job to ensure fair lending was a common practice. It was great to join an organization where we prided ourselves on being a customer advocacy mortgage company. We needed to go through this market correction. The irony of the correction is that it finally put the emphasis back on Rate being a direct measurement of Risk. A lot of lenders neglected this since the borrowers were willing to pay premiums for loans that shouldn\'t have been executed. I believe as we head into the future, lenders will pay close attention to metrics to ensure loans won\'t result as toxic assets on their books.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
I think borrowers are most intimated about the unknown of applying for a mortgage. There is so much information in the marketplace of Do\'s and Don\'ts it can be a scary process. No one wants to engage in an experience that can be lengthy or worse, a complete waste of time. With my clients, in our first interaction, I educate my clients about the mortgage process and what they expect as far as timelines and process. I have several clients that thank me simply for the education piece after our first meeting. It\'s my job as the mortgage professional to ensure that my client has a clear understanding of the loan program and the loan application process.
Summary of where you grew up: family, affiliations, college, high school, etc.
I have had an interesting childhood. I spent the first four years of my life in Springfield, IL. And then ages 4-8, my parents moved my sister and me to India to do some missionary work as well as work with a local school. We came back when I was 9, where I spend the rest of my young life with my family in Schaumburg, IL. For my college education, I went to Marquette University where I not only learned the importance of always striving for more, but the responsibility we all have to serve others in our community.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
Aside from being a branch manager, I recently graduated from DJ school. Music has always been a passion of mine. I played the Trumpet growing up and now I find myself in a DJ booth, who knew?!
