Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
No two customers are the same and each experience is unique. I am proactive in asking questions and listen to your goals to help you determine the best home loan for you.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Talk to a trusted lender months in advance of actually deciding to begin the home buying process. Know exactly where you stand financially and what products are available, as well as having a budget in place. Also assess what products MAY be available. For example, learn what products are available with a higher down payment, higher credit score, etc. This way you have clearly defined goals and open yourself up to more options, and not being pigeon holed into one loan type. It may be better for you to SAVE an additional 6 months for a higher down payment, so when you're ready to purchase the monthly payments are less.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
Remember the 5 P's: Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance! Contacting me well in advance of purchasing will insure that there will not be hiccups during the process. It will give us a chance to review credit, income, assets, debt ratios and anything else that could derail the process. Knowing about any potential problems in advance will: 1) Give you the opportunity to fix them, 2) Save you from a painful process of finding a home you love only to not get the loan. Talking with me sooner than later WILL save you time and make the process much less stressful.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
The most satisfying part of my job is sitting at the closing table with my clients and seeing the excitement in their eyes. Buying a new home is generally a new chapter in their lives, and I'm glad to be part of that. I also love saving people money through the refinance process, as I know what an impact this can have on my clients lives.
