Michael Cain is a mortgage loan originator with extensive experience in the real estate and mortgage industry. With a background in commercial real estate investment sales, and commercial real estate tenant advisory services, Michael became a loan officer to pursue his interests in the financing side of the industry. Specializing in first time home buyer, condo financing, Jumbo, conventional, FHA and 203(k) renovation loans, Michael is also highly experienced with refinancing existing mortgages.

Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I definitely don't have a typical client. Every client needs a detailed review and analysis of their buyer profile. I have assisted clients in obtaining home financing for $50,000 purchase and up to several million dollars. Every scenario is different and all clients have different long term and short term goals. I like to lead the conversation with open ended questions/discussions to help them better understand the process and address any concerns they may have.
Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
I was working with a client for several months until they found their dream home. Upon the inspection, however, they learned there was extensive water damage throughout the basement framing. This damage makes the home unable for conventional or FHA financing under the guidelines. We were able to help them restructure the deal with an FHA 203K renovation mortgage and closed on time.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
The number 1 misconception people have about the home loan process is that 20% down is needed for conventional financing. Followed closely by the number 2 misconception that you need to have perfect credit to get a mortgage. Finally the number 3 misconception about the loan process is that a fixed rate mortgage is always the best option.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Most of my satisfaction in my career as a Loan Officer comes though assisting people in one of the most important and complex financial transactions they will be involved in.
