Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I got involved in the mortgage industry in 1992.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I work mainly on referrals of which most understand the markets and how rates fluctuate.
How long have you been in the mortgage business? What awards have you won?
When I do an application, I treat my client the same way I would treat my family or myself. Most people always want to know how much they qualify for where my first question is not how much you qualify for but how high of a housing payment you feel comfortable with.
What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
Approximately 25 years.
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
When deciding on what type of property you want to purchase, you need to determine a payment amount that you will feel comfortable paying. That will also help you in determining the maximum price point of a property that you should be looking at.
Are you active in any local associations or community groups, and at what level? What goals and/or success have you helped these groups achieve?
Before an application is taken, they should be given a list of all documents that will be needed for the transaction. When telling them bank statements, many will just give you the pages with information on it and not the blank numbered pages - they need to be told that we need all pages.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
When a loan closes, I know I did my best in giving my client as much information as I can so they could choose what program and rate fit their needs.
