About Patrick

Patrick has lived in Chicago his entire life and continued his college career in the suburbs of Chicago, studying at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. He received a well-rounded education through studying outside of the industry and majoring in biology. Patrick is a sports fan that spent 18 years of his life playing soccer before an injury ended his career, thus relegating him to the position of Superfan.

What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Information is the key here. Determining my client\'s goals and desires for their future and the future of their home will help determine the best options available. Every home buyer has their own priorities when choosing a mortgage. Some are interested in keeping their monthly payments as low as possible. Others are interested in making sure that their monthly payments never increase and would be a better candidate for a fixed mortgage. And still others pick a loan based on the knowledge they will be moving again in just a few years. The best advice comes from reviewing their current situation and what the future holds.
How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
The biggest change in recent years has been the amount of documentation and review that goes into approving a loan. In the past, the process was much simpler from an underwriting standpoint in comparison to today. In the current market patience and understanding is key. There are continuous changes in the industry, but with the right amount of communication and understanding my team can complete the process in a timely fashion.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?

What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
There are two instances that provide me with great satisfaction in my job. The most satisfaction comes from the smile on my client\'s face after they have completed the purchase of their first home. The second would be when I receive a referral from a client. Whether it\'s the refinance of an existing home, the purchase of their next home, or the first time home buyer closing for the first time, a referral indicates you have gone above and beyond. A borrower that gives you the opportunity to provide the same service to a friend and family member indicates a job well done.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
My unique quality would have to be my memory. Whether it was last month, or last year that we spoke I have the uncanny knack to recall the conversation and details. This especially applies to anything numerical as numbers just seem to stick better.
