About Stanley

I have been in the mortgage industry since August 2003 and have been licensed since May 2004. When I purchased my home in 2001, I had my first experience in Real Estate. I realized the need of the market to guide first time homebuyers through the process of home financing as it can be complex and confusing. I enjoy helping people with obtaining one of the largest investments in their life and being able to share my experience and knowledge to ease the anxiety of home financing. I like to earn the trust and bring value to my clients by setting proper expectations, guiding them through the loan process, understanding their financial goals and consulting them on the best program to fit their personal situation and needs. I've been in the customer service industry for over 20 years and learned to listen to the needs of my family, friends, and clients. I'm a bay area native, born in San Francisco. I'm a family man and been married since 2003 to my better half Lorena. Together we have two boys, CJ 9yrs old and William 7yrs old. In our spare time we enjoy bike rides, taking hikes, going to the movies and traveling.

What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
The steps I take to assist my customers in finding the best home loan is to understand and listen to the client's short term and longer term goals. Listening to the client and understanding what is most important to them. Asking the right questions, such as: Do you want to pay off home loan as fast as possible, are you looking for the most monthly cash flow, would you like to include their home insurance and property tax with the payment, how long do you plan on living in this home, will this become an investment property? There are so many aspects in choosing the right program. Ultimately, it is understanding the client's needs for short and long term financial goals. Also being familiar with all the different investors, guidelines and programs available.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
I would set proper expectations on the home buying and loan process. That in this market you would need to be patient, not get discouraged and may have to put in multiple bids before you find your dream home. From experience, to ease the client's stress and anxiety, I would walk them through the home loan process so they have great understanding of what is needed from them, the steps and timeline to close the loan. It is important to understand the dos and don'ts while looking for a home, such as trying not to establish new debts, etc.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
Open communication with your loan agent is important and going through the preapproval process will help identify any issues and address them ahead of time. It's important to cooperate and respond quickly when your loan agent asks for documents from you as things are time sensitive. Open communication, for example: discussing with your loan agent before applying for new credit or adding additional debt like buying a car or planning to have a change in job employment.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Helping families get into their dream home, being able to help a family strategize to consolidate debt to reach their financial goals. Working with investors to find the right loan program for their needs. Being able to consult and guide new home buyers in the home process. Assisting friends, family and clients to achieve the American dream of home ownership. I believe sharing my knowledge and experience in the Real Estate industry brings value and I take pride in helping others. This is what gives me the most satisfaction.
