How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I started in the mortgage business in 1993. After buying an investment property, I was intrigued by the mortgage process. I believed I could help people achieve their property ownership dreams. I was right! Over the years, I have had the honor of being a top-producing President’s Club originator for the majority of my career. My passion for helping my customers achieve their long-term property investment goals fuels my success.
Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
During a meeting with my clients for a pre-approval, we discovered they had some credit challenges that impeded their ability to buy their dream home. After carefully analyzing their credit history, income and spending habits, I advised them on how to improve their credit score in a timely manner. This removed their obstacle from buying the home they really wanted. Once they negotiated for the home, I continued to advise them on when to lock-in the best interest rate, what documents were needed to fully approve their loan and attended their closing to ensure there were no unanswered questions.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Mortgages can be confusing. With access to so much information through the Internet, people find it difficult to sort out what is right for them. My team and I are available 24/7 to answer questions and guide our clients through the process. We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and work mainly on referrals from happy customers. We understand the process can be intimidating. We offer our years of experience and make sure that every part of the lending process is as pleasant and transparent as possible.
Summary of where you grew up: family, affiliations, college, high school, etc.
I grew up in Park Ridge. I went to Madison Grade School (now called Maine Park), Lincoln Junior High, then Maine South. I met a great girl from Maryland and convinced her to come to Park Ridge and marry me. We have three wonderful boys who all grew up in Park Ridge and graduated from Maine South High School. I play golf at the Park Ridge Country Club, where I used to caddie. This is my hometown and this is where I love to live and work.
