How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the mortgage industry for 20+ years. I was inspired to get into the mortgage industry when my husband and I purchased our first home. We unfortunately got involved with a predatory lender. Quickly realizing the scandal that was taking place we found a new Mortgage Banker who educated us, every step of the way. After getting into our first home, I made the career move and made it a priority to never allow what happened to us to ever happen to anybody else. I am passionate about helping people to obtain the American Dream of home ownership!
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I don't have a "typical" customer. Everybody that I take care of is unique and has their own specific needs and requirements. However, common questions that I get asked are usually related to the mortgage process, how much of a financial investment is required and what the standard costs are.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Each and every client is vastly unique. My philosophy is to educate my clients and help them understand their options. To start, I listen to my client's mortgage goals. Then I run the numbers so I can provide them with straight forward and unbiased advice about different programs and rate options to match their financing goals.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Most people wanting to purchase a home get a bit intimidated by what steps they may be facing. The most cumbersome step is just gathering financials and required documentation for the underwriting piece. It is not as difficult as most people think. Contact me for a two minute rundown of what will be needed and what steps to take next.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1. How much money they will need for a down payment.
2. How much closing costs will amount to.
3. The underwriting process.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
To ensure a smooth mortgage underwriting process, it is best to have the needed documentation organized and prepared to submit. Call me 303-5861-4389 for a brief run-down of what this looks like.
