Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My typical customer is someone purchasing a new home. Whether its their first home or upgrading due to a growing family their questions are all unique. They want to make sure they are getting the best rate and experience. They also want to know they are truly qualified to avoid the many issues other borrowers, perhaps ones they've experienced before, have had.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
The advice I would give to a first time home buyer is know your numbers. It's important to consider everything that goes into home ownership. Such as, is the property located in a HOA, if so what is the fee and how will that affect my mortgage? Its also important to know how your current debt and monthly obligations may effect your mortgage and what you can qualify for.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
Knowing your credit score is important. Your credit score has a big impact on the interest rate you qualify for, which has a impact on what your monthly mortgage payment will be. Also, give the lender as much information upfront as you can think of, that will help with any surprises down the road.
