About Andrew

Andrew started his mortgage banking career in Dallas in 1983. His experience includes Loan Officer, Branch Manager, Regional Manager, National Production Manager and Owner of his own mortgage company. Andrew is currently the Regional Sales Manager for Texas for Guaranteed Rate. His extensive experience has led to his proficiency with Jumbo loans, condo loans, FHA, VA and USDA loans, purchase renovation loans, as well as conventional purchase loans. He also assists referrals and prior clients with refinances including cash-out refinances and renovation refinances. He also enjoys working with first time home buyers.

Andrew attended Highland Park High School in Dallas, and earned a BBA from North Texas State University as well as an MBA from SMU. As a native Dallasite, he has first-hand experience with lending in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, Uptown, Highland Park, University Park, East Dallas, and Oak Cliff. He currently resides in Plano, and frequently makes loans for Frisco, Allen, Carrolton, Plano, Lewisville and Denton. Andrew also makes loans across the entire State of Texas.

Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I really don't have a typical customer. But in a typical day I will speak with one client wanting a $2,000,000 property with 30% down, another customer who is newly married and buying their first house for $125,000 and needs the lowest down payment possible and another client buying a condo in Uptown who needs guidance on HOA's and project approvals. The typical questions I get are: what is the minimum down payment, what will my payments be, can I qualify for this loan, how can I overcome my shortage of closing costs, can I buy this house and roll in money to renovate it after closing and what is the best way to get started and what should I expect during the process.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?

What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I enjoy helping people buy a home because I know how much my home means to me. I have not always made the best buying decisions and I have purchased 9 homes in my lifetime for my family - we moved a lot. So I enjoy bringing ALL my life experiences to the process to help my clients buy the best home possible for them.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
When I was 18, I spent a summer herding sheep on top of a mountain in Oregon. I was born and raised in Dallas. That summer both the sheep and I were in constant danger. The sheep and I both survived. Barely.
