How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I started in the mortgage business back in 2001. I was selling Cutco knives and impressed one of my clients so much he offered me a job as a processor. I grew to love the art of the mortgage, helping a client buy a home, structuring the deal. Many of my friends have bought their first homes over the past several years and it was with great satisfaction that I was able to help them out.
How long have you been in the mortgage business? What awards have you won?
I have been in the mortgage business for 14+ years now. I have been ranked in the top 1% every year since 2013.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
It's extremely important to make sure you are working with someone you are comfortable with, you have confidence in, and who was recommended.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
People frequently assume that because they have money in the bank, or they have excellent credit, or they are now making money that they should be eligible for a mortgage. The reality is that you need all the pieces in the puzzle to complete the transaction.
Summary of where you grew up: family, affiliations, college, high school, etc.
I grew up in Monsey, NY. I went to school in Edison, NJ and then college in Ramapo and then Touro in Brooklyn, NY. I was married and moved to Brooklyn 9 years ago. I have 3 children and I'm on the board of my Synagogue. My favorite "hobbies" are golfing and working. I'm admittedly a work-a-holic and frequently working until very late at night. I'm available to help my clients at any time of day or night.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I love playing golf and I play when ever I can manage to squeeze it in.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I have a diverse expertise in the industry. I was in operations for many years so I understand the back end of the business as well sales end. This unique insight helps me structure deals so that they close quickly and efficiently.
