How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
Just over two years now. I have a sincere love for providing a fantastic customer experience from start to finish. Buying a home is one of the major and most stressful purchases anyone will make and I enjoy helping to ensure a smooth process every step of the way.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
To make an educated purchase that they will be delighted with for quite some time. I strive to make sure that new or first time home buyers are aware of the many options available to them, and that they do their research in advance so they are completely comfortable in making an offer. I am very detailed and go over the entire process with them to soothe any nerves they may have as well so they can come to the closing table relaxed and ready to go.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
The best way to ensure a smooth mortgage underwriting process is for borrowers to provide accurate and complete information on their application, and to submit supporting documents as soon as possible. I also ask borrowers not to travel close to their closing date in case additional documents are required, not to make any other major purchases that would limit their qualifying ability, and to respond to any requests by UW quickly. Organized borrowers are a dream to work with and make the process easier for themselves, as well as for us to do our best work for them.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I am a huge fitness and nutrition enthusiast, and enjoy working out myself as well as supporting others in their health and wellness goals. My nickname is “The Machine” for my non-stop energy level. I love a variety of fitness modalities, everything from strength training to Yoga to kickboxing and more. I’m an advocate of a strong mind/body connection and the importance of balancing hard work with activities that ensure a healthy and happy life. I also stay active with my two adorable little Yorkies, Jedi and Chewie, and I’m a voracious reader and lifelong learner.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I was a military kid and moved almost every year of my life, so I’ve had a wide variety of different life experiences in all kinds of places. I can literally find a common interest with every single person I meet, which is a great conversation starter, and I particularly enjoy one-on-one chats to get to know others. One of my greatest joys in life is connecting good people to do great work. While I’m very extroverted on the outside, I’m also quite introverted when my nose is in a book reading or studying, which I do constantly to continue learning and developing my skill set. I consider myself a student for life, and I’m always trying to expand my comfort zone with ambitious new goals and rewarding relationships so that I have more to share with others in return.
