Bill Moorman has been a lending professional & real estate investor for over three decades and has helped guide clients for over 19 years in mortgage financial planning.

What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
The approach that I use is to first listen to the client's request, I then interview them to get their client profile and all the information needed so we can have a productive planning and strategy conversation. I usually set up a planning strategy meeting where we spend 90 to 120 minutes clarifying what their life plan is, and how to build their real estate and financial portfolio to support their life and financial objectives. We identify all options that are applicable to their situation, provide what is flexibility and gives them the most control for their current life stage, and also plan in a way that will over prepare them for their future life stages. I then guide and support to execute the plan and strategy.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
I take an extraordinary amount of time to help first time home buyers understand the principles of owning and controlling real estate. The main challenge is the mystery and fear of the unknown, so I try to take the unknown away and fill in the blanks so they understand exactly where they're going, how they're going to get there and what the pros and cons are.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
After the recent bank meltdown in the US, borrowers find it difficult to digest the verification of documentation necessary to complete a home loan. I take the time to explain to them that this is a protective mechanism that will protect their investment, and let them know upfront that it will be a somewhat rigorous process so they have the right expectations.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
Being outdoors and enjoying nature. I love being on or near the water, boating, skiing, surfing, paddleboarding, cycling, running, hiking, music, enjoying gourmet food and craft beverages with friends and family.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I talk to everybody I come in contact with and usually interview them with 20 questions. You could drop me anywhere and I would make friends immediately, and in most cases be immediately welcomed into their inner circle with their close friends and family.
