About Billy

I have worn many hats in the Mortgage Industry. I started in 2004 when I received a call from a family member to let me know they just started helping people with their home financing. Described it as so fulfilling to be apart of helping people achieve home ownership through purchase and saving money through refinancing. I look at it as I get to create long lasting relationships and share smiles with friends for a lifetime.

I attended Mott Community College, Western Michigan University, and finally The University of Michigan. I went to college with the intention of being a teacher/coach as I love helping people and seeing them grow. Having an impact on people in a positive matter is what I love most. Triple minor in math, geography, and physical education is what I went to school for.

I am married to my lovely wife that I've been with for over 13 years, and I am blessed to have 2 beautiful children. They are my everything! I grew up in Flint Michigan, and reside in Clarkston now. I love community, and will continue to be a pillar in the community for charities, school systems, and support everyone to the best of my abilities. I am a very big Sports Fanatic. Played all sports through high school, and attended Western Michigan to play football. Love the TEAM atmosphere.

How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
2004 is when I entered the mortgage industry, and was inspired by the possibility to make an impact on others lives in a positive way.
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
The families I am lucky enough to help are any and all. With the vast array of mortgage programs I have through GR, I am able to help almost everyone I come in contact with. The typical questions people have are the basics. What is my best option for me and my family. What Rate and Cost combination's do you have? How much do I qualify for when buying a house? Is the process difficult?
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Most people don't realize you have over 10 rate and cost options on every program you ever discuss. It's the education part that I specialize in for everyone that I speak to. There is so much that goes into selecting the right loan for a family. First is the goals they have, why are they even considering it? Next would be giving options that people don't even know that are out there. Third is giving my expert opinion, as I've been apart of over 10,000+ mortgage applications/closings in my career.
How long have you been in the mortgage business? What awards have you won?
In 12 years, I have won top performer in my previous company time after time. Have went from Sr. Loan Officer to Executive Loan Officer, to President's Club Loan Officer. Top Revenue Producer, Team Captain, Directors and Leaders. Top Referral award winner (which is my favorite, ask me why!).
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Surround yourself with an educated originator. I am both Federally and State Licensed in over 35 states across the country.

What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
The most difficult part of a loan process is the uncertainty. I educate my clients up front, so there are no surprises. A loan process is not scary, when you already know what the next step is, and what documents you are going to need and why upfront. It comes with the experience I have.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Creating lasting memories with an extension of my family through the mortgage process. Creating smiles that last for a lifetime by building trust between us.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
People say I'm a little wacky because more times than not you will catch me smiling. I will always deliver the good and bad in an immediate fashion. It's apart of how I'm wired as a person. I love what I do!
