How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the mortgage business for 18yrs. I thought it would be a great way to help people fulfill their dream of homeownership and earn an honest living.
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I do not have a typical customer. They always want to know what the rate is and the closing costs. They want to know what their payments will be for a range of homes.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I just ask as many questions as I can to determine what their needs are and what they would like their payment to be.
How long have you been in the mortgage business? What awards have you won?
What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
A fixed rate mortgage gives the customer peace of mind that their principle and interest payment will not change for the term of the loan.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
I believe customers feel the most difficult part of the mortgage process is all the documentation they need to get to us and then after they do and the loan comes out of underwriting, they need to get us even more documentation. I let them know this is going to happen and do my best to limit the amount of paperwork the underwriter will be requesting by getting as much documentation upfront as possible.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
The most satisfying thing about my job is when a customer tells me how much they appreciate the help I provided them in buying their new home.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
When I am working with a new or past customer, I always try to give them the same service that I would want if I were working with a mortgage professional to attain a home loan.
