About Brad

I first entered into the mortgage industry in 2005, the experience has allowed me to really consult and design programs to meet individual needs. I began originating mortgages immediately after returning home from Afghanistan, where I served with the Army; under the 25th Infantry Division, which is where I get my passion for VA financing!

The Seven Core Army Values: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage; are instilled in me and I continue to live them through in my mortgage career. This business is about relationships and I look forward to being a friend as well as trusted adviser. I believe the application process is truly a crash course in personal finance.

How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I started working for a title company while in high school, by 2005 my mother insisted that I would be a great mortgage loan originator.. We all know "mother knows best!" So, here I am and I thank her every other time we talk!
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My typical customer is someone that likes to gain information. I tend to uncover questions that you may not even know you have. Because I have a true consultative approach, clients generally do not have many questions, reason being: if I do my job right, I answer them before you have to ask!
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I start with the online application, the process allows customers to provide information at their convenience, and best of all saves them time. Once complete, it allows me to review the information and prepare for a consultation. In the consultation, we discuss goals for the short and long term. Once I know what is important, I put together multiple options and explain the unique value of each. That way TOGETHER we can decide which will benefit the family the most!
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
There are fewer "first time home buyer" programs than there once were, it is far more important to have the representation of a knowledgeable loan originator than someone that tells you that they have a "first time home buyer program". I would prefer that we sit down and have a brief conversation about what to expect and put together a solid plan for the financing, before shopping for a house. This will contribute to better focus and confidence when deciding which home is right for you.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
#1 "lowest rate is the best deal" #2 "I should get a mortgage where I bank" 3# "I shouldn't have to provide information because I have great credit, income or lots of money"
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Creating relationships, getting to know people, helping people to attain goals and dreams. When a past client shares my information with friends, family or coworkers it is the most satisfying experience!
