What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Asking questions and listening is my top priority to get any borrower in to the absolute best loan to fit their needs. I want to know their story, their likes, their dislikes, and what they value most. When I get to know them, I can make a strong recommendation for what is going to be best for them and feel confident in doing so!
What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
The pros and cons of Fixed vs. ARM all depend on the borrower. If someone is purchasing a home and going to be in that home for 20-30 years, a fixed rate may better fit their needs. However, if a borrower completely understands the ARM product, and doesn’t plan on being in that property for a long period of time, and ARM could be a great product fit for them.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
Be honest, and be quick. I love when borrowers tell me everything up front, it helps me to eliminate surprises and get them in the best product to meet their needs without having to make adjustments later on in the process. Also, quickly giving their documents to our processing team is a huge help to ensure the process goes smoothly. The more complete file we have before we submit it to underwriting, the less time the entire process will take, and the faster we can get them in to their new home!

I grew up in East Tennessee and I am very proud of my deep southern roots. My husband and I moved to Colorado on a dream and a prayer back in 2010 and 7 years later we have a lovely home, 2 beautiful daughters, and no plan to leave this beautiful state anytime soon.
