I have been in the mortgage business for 20 years. 15 of those 20 years have been in management and all 20 originating. I am a proud father of 2 girls. My oldest daughter Carly is in college studying art and my youngest is a senior in high school.

How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the business for 20 years. I started right out of college working in consumer finance. When introduced to mortgage lending, I was fascinated by the process and quickly became a student of the business. I find it very rewarding helping buyers obtain the dream of homeownership!
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My office does a lot with first time homebuyers. Typical questions during the pre-approval process stem around how to best position themselves for easy qualifying and getting into the best possible product.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
It is critical to set proper expectations up front on what they can afford and to make sure they are aligned with a real estate professional that is knowledgeable about what they are searching for.
How long have you been in the mortgage business? What awards have you won?
20 years.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
I tell all first time homebuyers to be very careful about opening up new credit, excessive use of current credit cards and to make sure they limit movement of funds across various asset accounts.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
Today the biggest misconception is that you can't buy a home without a high down payment. A lot of clients really feel lending has tightened more than it really has due to the financial crisis years ago.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Attending a closing for first time homebuyers.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I have an affinity for helping borrowers that have challenges whether it be credit, income or asset related. I enjoy finding ways to help them obtain the dream of home ownership.
