I have been in the mortgage business since 2002. A good friend of mine was in the business at the time and he encouraged me to give it a try. Although it was a challenging transition at first, it has turned out to be a very good career move for me. Helping people with their largest financial obligation can be very rewarding!
After graduating from high school in Livonia, I went to Central Michigan University to study Business and Communications. I figured that a Business degree could take me into a number of different fields, but I can't say the mortgage field was even a consideration at the time. It wasn't until I purchased my first home that I realized all that went into getting a mortgage, and that it was such a large industry.
I'm a bit of a homebody, so when I'm not working I prefer to spend time with my wife and kids. Our boys are active in sports so we are traveling quite a bit to hockey rinks and soccer fields all over Michigan and surrounding states. On the occasional night off we enjoy throwing on a good movie or catching a game from one of our local teams.
