About Dawn

Helping people understand their mortgage financing options is my main goal. I love working with first-time home buyers and helping them realize their homeownership dreams. Buying a home can be a very stressful time for anyone, but I love educating my clients through the process. No question is too small nor can a question be asked too many times. I also have a passion for the builder community and providing loans for new construction homes.

I have an amazing job that allows me to meet people who start out as clients, but eventually become my friends! Experience has taught me that customer service and good communication is the key to success with every client. Dawn interview Q&A

How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I've been in the mortgage business since 1990. I started as a receptionist, worked my way into processing, then management and finally sales, so I have been involved in all aspects of the production side of the business.
Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
I helped a client refinance their first and second mortgages, both of which were well over the current market interest rates. It was a very challenging situation as the clients were underwater on their value so it took some very creative financing to get help for them, but we did it and cut their interest rate on both loans by almost half.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
I think because there are so many options available with different online applications and internet lending, that people think there is still little documentation involved. They can be surprised with the amount of information that is needed on most transactions. I try to prepare them in advance what we will be needing, when we will be needing it and why. There is a government regulation and reasoning for every single item that is requested and sometimes it's just educating the client in advance so they can be prepared.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
Most of my free time is spent with my husband and 3 kids, who are involved in hockey and soccer activities.
