My driving force in the mortgage business is helping people achieve the dream of homeownership. For most people, purchasing a home is the single largest financial decision of their life. It gives me great satisfaction to be an integral part of something that affects lives so positively and profoundly.

It is important for my clients to understand and become comfortable with their particular loan product. This enables them to make an informed decision after I lay out all their options. The key to my business is communication. I am open, truthful and transparent throughout the loan process, which helps my clients feel comfortable every step of the way.

Before becoming a mortgage originator, I was a Regional Underwriting Manager at the largest mortgage servicer in the U.S. Being involved in the process from start to finish gives me unmatched insight into my clients’ needs and allows me to deliver a streamlined process for my clients.

From first-time homebuyers to seasoned investors, I’ve helped all types of people purchase their next property. I have the ability to understand and close complicated loans other lenders can’t.

My ultimate goal is to provide excellent customer service while educating my clients about homeownership—leading to a positive experience and a quick mortgage process.

What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I ask my clients a variety of questions upfront and listen to what their needs are before making any recommendations. It is important to me as the industry expert to ensure my clients are comfortable with the process and understand what to expect from pre-approval to closing. Every client is different and I am committed to helping them find the best product for their situation.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
The best advice for first time home buyers is to find a great and knowledgeable team that will guide them comfortably through the process. By a team, I’m referring to a loan officer, real estate agent, and attorney which must work synergistically to make it a wonderful experience for the client. If any one of those components are lacking it could be result in a terrible experience for a potential home buyer. First time buyers need to take their time and find the right first home, don’t hastily decide, make a plan and stick to it.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Most clients find gathering documents as the most difficult part of the homebuying process and not understanding why the information is required. It is essential for the loan officer to explain the “why” behind the process, with my previous background as an underwriter I can explain the “why” that sometimes is missing. My experience as an Underwriter and Lending Manager differentiates me from 99% of loan officers.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I find the most satisfying part of what I do is the ability to meet people from all paths of life and help them find a home. We all come from somewhere and I enjoy learning about my clients, there isn’t any greater feeling in the world than helping people achieve home ownership.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I have a tough time going on long road trips as I get stir crazy in a car. I made a rule that if it takes longer than 5 hours to get to the destination I will fly instead. I make a few exceptions per year but America looks just as good at 39,000 feet.
