How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I originally obtained my Mortgage license in 2005. Being a 24 year retired Veteran of the US Army I quickly realized that there was a huge deficiency and need for Veterans to have a mortgage professional that specialized in VA Home Loans they could trust and relate to; someone who spoke their language and understood their needs. Without hesitation, I decided to devote myself to the Veteran home buyer, fulfilling a passion of mine while at the same time helping Veterans achieve home ownership. I have always had a great amount of love, respect, and admiration for my fellow Veterans.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Make sure you are completely approved on a home loan before shopping for a home. I know many people who shop for a home and then go find the loan they need. What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
In my opinion communication is key to ensure a smooth mortgage transaction, whether it be a purchase or refinance. Through good communication we are able to set a realistic expectation and you are always aware of where you are at in the lending process, as well as the next steps to be taken. I feel the largest benefit of great communication is that it eliminates having unexpected surprises at the closing table.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I enjoy and receive the most satisfaction in working with each client to achieve their goal of home ownership and choosing the right loan program for their needs. It is my goal to earn 100% customer satisfaction and build a lifetime relationship with all my clients. The biggest compliment I can receive form my past client is a referral to another great client.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I love football and have been involved in football since High School. I am currently the League Commissioner of the Rocky Mountain Football League, a regional Semi-Professional Football league.
