How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
27 years and the fact that I am instrumental in assisting people make one of the largest purchases in their lifetime. Also seeing the smile and happiness when the deal closes and the buyers realize the American Dream of owning a home.
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
Buyers are my typical customer base. They usually ask how long I have been a mortgage lender and what are my interest rates and fees.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I do a budget analysis to determine what they can actually afford and why they can afford that payment. Too many times buyers donýt take into account what their other expenses are when determining their affordable monthly payment. With over 27 years experience, I have seen every type of scenario.
How long have you been in the mortgage business? What awards have you won?
27 years. Top producer award and #1 loan agent for my past companies.
What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
Pros of a fixed rate is payment stability and secure. Cons: rates are usually higher and requires more income for the same purchase price. ARM: pros low start rate which makes it more affordable for the same sales price. Cons: payment fluctuation over the long run.
Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
Buyers had gone to another lender and that lender couldnýt get them qualified to the sales price they were looking at. With my vast knowledge of loan programs and special government programs, I was able to offer the buyers a special program that allowed them to qualify for that sales price.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Deal with a lender that takes the time to explain the process and do a budget analysis.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
It's hard to get a loan, you need perfect credit and a large down payment. Its not hard to get a loan, you donýt need perfect credit and we have no down payment loans.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Helping buyers achieve their dreams of owning a home. I love challenges and getting the job done.

I enjoy what I do. I donýt see this as a job, but an adventure meeting new and different people on a daily basis.
