Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
The majority of my business comes from personal friends of mine and referrals from within my "sphere of influence". Clients most typically inquire about the process of the loan and everything a mortgage loan entails. When educating my clients, I feel confident that they are going to have the best experience possible by choosing Guaranteed Rate.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
The best advice I could give to first time home buyers is to trust the process. It may seem overwhelming and scary at times, but we are here to help and put out any and all fires along the way. Also, it is very important to find a good, experienced Realtor who you feel confident will represent you and your goals for your new home.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
At the beginning of every conversation I have with a potential new borrower, I always make sure I set expectations for them. This discussion always includes the importance of providing the complete documents need to begin the process, as well as those which will be requested during the underwriting process. I also like to explain the importance of providing requested documentation in a timely manner, as it could make the difference between closing on time and being delayed.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
As mentioned, I am a life long surfer having grown up by the beach in sleepy Encnitas, CA, a small town in Northern San Diego County. This sport has taken me all over the world to countries including Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, Peru, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Mexico. In my spare time, you will most likely find me at the beach!
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
Summer of 2013, I went fishing near the border of Costa Rica and Nicaragua to spread my fathers ashes with a couple of his close friends... On literally the first cast I threw that morning I landed a a 54lb. Cuberra Snapper... No joke.
