How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the mortgage business since 2002, a close relative of mine had been doing mortgages for a few years and suggested I give it a try, fast forward 15 years and now I’m here.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
When it comes to first time home buyers, I always suggest they ask a lot of questions, even if they think they may be irrelevant. Purchasing a home is a major deal, so I want my borrowers to be well versed so there are no surprises.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Borrowers sometimes feel that the paperwork required to obtain a loan can be a bit cumbersome, I agree. To alleviate some of the pressure, I ask for as much as I possibly can up-front, so the work on the back end is less stressful as they near their closing.
Summary of where you grew up: family, affiliations, college, high school, etc.
I grew up in Chicago with my parents and two brothers, one younger and one older. I attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where I joined a fraternity and graduated in 2001. In 2010 I married the love of my life and best friend, then in 2013 we gave birth to a wonderful daughter who keeps us on our toes every day, I wouldn’t change a thing.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
When the loan closes, the buyers receive the keys and they say thank you, there’s nothing better.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
October 10 is a special day in my family. I married my wife on October 10, 2010, 10/10/10. Then three years later to the day, we were blessed to have a baby girl on October 10, 2013, 10/10/13. I think it’s safe to say that I would be in big trouble if I ever forgot this day!
