I ask what’s important to them… lifestyle questions. It’s important the mortgage supports their lifestyle, not determine it.

Combined 35 years in real estate and mortgage lending. Have been responsible for over 5,000 transactions totaling over $1 Billion.
What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
A fixed rate mortgage is great if someone has a goal of paying off a home and living in it a very long time. However, if plans are to move in 5 to 7 years, an ARM will save thousands of dollars.
Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
Borrower has complex tax returns. With my years of experience, I was able to analyze the income and close in the normal time.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Buy a home that supports your lifestyle, and does not determine it.

The Home In Five program provides grant money towards the down payment. I’ve helped homebuyers come to closing with only a pen.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
I find most customers don't understand how important complete and accurate documentation is. I give them tips to help them pull items directly from their employers and banks websites that can be uploaded securely to Guaranteed Rate.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1. Find the home first then get a loan. 2. Only the credit score matters. 3. The down payment can come from anywhere.
