What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Having been in banking for five years, what I do best is ask questions. My approach involves first finding out what is most important to my clients, and then finding the right mortgage product to fit their needs.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Understand how credit works, and don’t make ANY new purchases or increase the balances on your credit cards during the home buying process. I’ve often seen buyers decide to purchase a new car to go with their new house, but that purchase can jeopardize their mortgage closing by changing their debt to income ratios.
What 2 or 3 mobile apps would you recommend for home buyers or house hunters, and why? What Smart Apps do you recommend your customers use for the house hunting process?
Zillow.com and Realtor.com have helpful mobile apps that make finding homes in your area easier. However, they don’t replace a seasoned realtor who knows your area, and can connect you with properties you might not have considered through the apps. If you are new to our area and don’t know who to use, ask me!
Summary of where you grew up: family, affiliations, college, high school, etc.
I grew up in Columbus, Ohio. I moved to Nashville Tennessee in 2010, to attend Vanderbilt for my Master’s in Learning in Urban Schools. While I loved teaching, education could not provide the lifestyle I wanted for my family, and I become a Branch Manager with US Bank. I’m excited to now be working for a company that not only provides the best mortgages in the industry, but also invests in being on the cutting-edge of technology to facilitate the loan process for our clients!
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
It’s cheesy, but I truly do get warm fuzzy feelings when I help someone buy their new home. Not only is it great to see their excitement at being a home owner, but I also know that I’m getting them into their home at the best rates available!
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I spent most of my adult life in Ohio teaching martial arts to students of all ages. I owned a wonderful school in Gahanna, Ohio, and I had the best students an instructor could ever serve. They were, and still are like family.
