How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in this fascinating and exciting Industry for 13 years. I was inspired by being able to share my passion for helping individuals and families in purchasing their home. It is extremely rewarding in knowing I helped a family walk through the door to their home every day. I love the ability to give back to my clients and treat them as family. I hope to earn lifelong customers.
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
All customers are different and all have different questions regarding a home mortgage. Whether a customer is purchasing a new home or refinancing a current mortgage, I make sure to help uncover and answer any questions a customer might have regarding their specific financial situation.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Every customer’s financial situation is different, and I spend time to understand and listen to their wants and needs. We will combine this information and review all the different mortgage programs and costs to make sure we are providing the best program to meet their wants and needs.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
It is extremely important for all buyers, whether it’s their first first-time buying a home or not, to partner with a lender who will provide them with the time and dedication they need to be properly educated on purchasing a new home. I believe it is important to make sure we lay out a financial plan to not only purchase the home, but make sure it will meet the buyers’ goals.
How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
The mortgage industry is ever changing, and we can continue to expect the industry to experience change. There are many factors which have impacted the industry in a positive and negative way. Personally, I take the time to stay up to date on the latest market trends and mortgage products to properly take care of all my customers and cater to their financial needs.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Many customers might find the mortgage process rather daunting, but it is actually very exciting. I strive to provide a 5-star client experience and it all starts with setting the right expectations in the very beginning. Many the families I work with appreciate knowing in the beginning of what to expect throughout the mortgage process. By spending additional time to grow my industry knowledge, it allows me to communicate effectively with each family about their specific scenario. Everyone appreciates the extra effort in the beginning to make the whole process smooth.
Summary of where you grew up: family, affiliations, college, high school, etc.
I am born and raised in the South Suburbs of Chicago, Palos Park specifically. I moved to Michigan in 2001 when I attended Western Michigan University. I currently live in South Lyon, MI with my wife and 4 kids and are very active in the local community and the entire Detroit Metropolitan Area.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
It really is knowing I have helped families accomplish their financial needs whether by helping them purchase a new home or refinancing their current mortgage. When they look at you smiling and shake your hand or give you a hug and say “Thank You” on the day of closing. It is very satisfying to know these families have put their trust in me to handle the financing of probably their biggest financial asset. The place they call home.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
In my spare time, I spend it with my family. They are active in many different activities and athletics. I am an avid hockey player as I have been playing since I was three years old. During the summer, when time allows it, you might also find me on the golf course.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
Most people do not know I am a big Star Wars Fan. I grew up watching the original Trilogy and the Prequels when they were released. I am able to share my fandom of Star Wars with my oldest son. Even my daughter is getting into the Star Wars spirit. You might find us in a fierce light saber battle at home. The Force is strong with my little Padawans. May the Force Be With You.
