How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
The excitement and anticipation shared at the closing of my first mortgage loan as a loan originator in 2003 rekindled the feelings I had with my first home purchase and I knew this was my passion. Being chosen as the lender and trusted advisor in the decision to become a mortgagor; whether a first home, investment property, or a dream home; is an honor.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I listen to their story. I want to know their future plans and goals. Then we discuss ideas and options to help them attain those goals. They decide what will work best once they have the information they need.
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
Most consumers are not aware of LPMI. This product makes sense when the buyer wants the lowest payment option and they do not intend to keep the loan for 20 or 30 years. Of course, credit profile and other factors will determine if this is the best option.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
No surprises. Be thorough on the application. Provide all requested documentation timely.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I love knowing I have helped someone with a very important part of homeownership – the financing. I know I have provided them with the best service possible; and I’ve helped them determine which product, rate and terms best fit their specific needs and goals.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I’m half Japanese and half Caucasian! Sayonara is my favorite movie that I cannot watch without crying almost throughout.
