Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My typical customer is the one who seeks my financial expertise to choose the right loan for them with a financial strategy in mind that will ultimately help them achieve their short and long term goals.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
My advice for first time home buyers is to pretend they already have the mortgage payment prior to buying a house. For example, if they pay $1,500.00 in rent and are looking into taking a loan with a $1,900.00 mortgage payment, then for the next 3 months pretend you already have that $1,900.00 mortgage payment. That means you pay your rent and put aside $400.00 each month. At the end of 3 months you should have $1,200.00 in your savings account. This will allow you to test your mortgage payment comfort level. If you find out that you were not able to follow this exercise or struggled with it, then you might want to consider getting rid of some debt or look for other ways of lowering the mortgage payment obligation first.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
In order to ensure a smooth mortgage underwriting process a borrower must accept his responsibility and partner with his mortgage specialist and everyone else working on the loan. Doing everything on his part to help get his loan to the finish line.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I enjoy my devotional time, it allows me to focus on what is eternal and meaningful. I enjoy spending time with my family and don't take it for granted, for we never know if it could be the last time. I enjoy going to church and playing the piano with the worship team. Singing praises to God and focusing on His attributes helps me to love Him and serve others better.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
A certain word or phrase will trigger a song to come to mind and I will start singing it.
