About Kerri

Personally, I am an extremely active person who thrives on keeping busy with my two daughters, career, spouse, and pets! I enjoy playing (and coaching) volleyball, water skiing, and gardening. I was born and raised in Gridley, CA (Chico area), relocated to the bay area for almost 10 years, and have recently moved back to Folsom where my family and I enjoy the wonderful lake and all of the outdoor activities the area has to offer.

Professionally, I have been a top producer in the mortgage industry for the past 15 years. I am passionate about my clients, the real estate market, and the numbers to make it all happen. How long have you been in the mortgage business? What awards have you won?
I have been in the mortgage industry for 15+ years. I was ranked #13 in the nation with Well Fargo, funding over $100M in loan volume, and was consistently a President's Club member (top 1% of company). I was also a Top Producer at Provident Mortgage for 3 years running.
What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
A fixed rate mortgage is a great product for customers looking for a long term, fixed rate payment who plan to stay in their house for the next several years(7+years). It is also great to lock in a low fixed rate while the interest rate environment is at an all time low. ARM loans are a great option for first time buyers that might only plan on owning their first house for a few short years before moving up and into something longer term. An ARM usually offers the customer a lower interest rate and payment while they are actually occupying the house (5 to 7 years).
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
As a first time buyer, the biggest stress can be the "unexpected" closing costs and cash to close when buying a house. I always like to go over the loan estimate (payment and closing cost estimate) with the clients and explain each fee and what to expect as a one-time cost in buying a house. I also like to explain each item and review the cash to close and expected mortgage payment several times along the way, so they are prepared at signing and feel comfortable with what they are signing. Knowledge is key and no surprises!
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
As a loan officer, I love helping clients understand the process and educating them on what loan product might be best for their individual situation. The process can be a bit overwhelming with so many loan options and conditions, so I take pride in knowing the guidelines and explaining step by step of what to expect and what loan might be best for their needs/wants.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
My husband calls me "Crazy Kerri" as I'm always thinking and always on the go. I am an extreme type A person and love to be always doing something whether it be with my kids, volunteering at school, coaching, playing volleyball, or walking my two crazy dogs.
