How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I've been in the Mortgage Industry for 14 years. The reason I chose mortgage lending as a career is because I get great satisfaction from helping others. Whether I am helping families purchase their new home, their next home or assisting them with refinancing their current loan to improve their financial outlook, I feel a great sense of pride knowing my clients have given me their trust to find them a mortgage that best fits their needs.
What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
A very common question I get from my clients is, "why would I choose an Adjustable Rate Mortgage over a Fixed?" To properly answer this question for my clients I take the time to meet with my clients and ask them questions about their comfort levels, their lifestyle, how long they plan on living at their property, do they have children, how old, when do they plan on retiring and many other questions. Having these answers, I then use my cutting-edge technology that compares Fixed Rate Mortgage programs versus Adjustable Rate Mortgage programs. My licensed software compares these loans, side-by-side over a monthly period, a five-year period and even over a fifteen year period in order to see the costs and savings of each loan program. With this information, as well as with the information acquired from the questions I asked, my clients can then answer for themselves which loan program will best serve their needs as they work towards accomplishing their short and long-term financial goals.

What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
I believe most clients find the documentation requirements the most difficult. After the Mortgage Crisis, lending guidelines required more documentation to prove one's ability to re-pay their mortgage. I provide my clients with Borrower Checklists and Media Articles explaining the items that are now required for mortgage lending. I have found that if I share with my clients the items that will be required and the reasons why they are requested upfront, then it makes the documentation process much more palatable for my clients.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
When I'm not helping my clients with their home mortgage needs I enjoy spending time with my wife Teresa of 15 years and our 3 children ages 13, 11 and 9. As a family we enjoy attending and volunteering at our church. We are also a baseball and softball family. Many of our weekends are spent on the fields watching our kids compete in league and tournament play. If I'm not at my office or with my clients, I'll be enjoying my time with my family.
