Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
The easy answer to this is that there is no typical customer. Every client is unique! Whether it be credit issues, asset issues, down payment issues, or property issues, no two loans are ever alike. That is why I love being in this industry, everyday I learn something new.
What I tell my customers is don't let any one of those issues mentioned hold you back from trying to purchase or refinance. Let's build a plan to get you qualified, whether it by today or 12 months from now. I truly believe in building customers for life.
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
One product we recently rolled out is our industry leading 1% down payment loan program! Other lenders out there require at least 3% down. With this program, as long as you have 1% of down payment from your own funds (no gifts) you may qualify. If interested, call me and I will go over the details with you.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1) I don't qualify 2) I don't think I can afford it 3) It takes too long . All of these could not be further from the truth!
1) I don't qualify- What I find most often is that people assume they wont qualify. They were told by friends and family that they must have 20% down or 640 credit to qualify. This is absolutely incorrect. We offer loan programs with credit scores of 580+ and offer down payment programs as low as 1%. There is a loan product out for everyone.
2) I cant afford it- Once again, this is a common misconception. If you are paying rent, you can afford a mortgage.
3) It takes too long- Once again, this is inaccurate. We can often close in as little as 3 weeks, allowing you the flexibility of a quick close!
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I love the challenge in navigating complex lending laws to find a loan solution for every customer. The most rewarding part is when a loan closes and you know that you put in the extra effort to get the job done but all the customer saw was as a seamless loan process.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I am a huge space/sky/airplane junkie. At the age of 12 I saw the space shuttle launch as was a regular at the local airshows. I own a telescope and love looking at the stars. I have also bungee jumped and skydived on multiple occasions.
