How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I will be in the industry for 30 years in 2017. I worked at Home Federal as a financial consultant selling mutual funds etc. That was in 1987 and the market crashed. I met a LO and realized that I rather do something that someone needs. It clicked instantly.
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I do not have a typical client. I am known for being able to do any type of loan for every price range and in any scenario.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I always review the clients financial situation, how long they will be in the property to be able recommend what is best for them. The most important factor is their comfort level.
Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
Wow I am known for challenging loans so right now doing 608 FICO score with 55 back end ratio. Clients With 1 year tax returns Jumbo. The list is daunting.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Every buyer should be comfortable with their payments including taxes and insurance even if they do not pay them together.
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
Mortgage programs using 12 months of bank deposits, one year tax returns for Jumbo product.
How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
The mortgage industry has always been ever evolving. I do not expect it to get that much easier in the future. Lenders are coming Out with higher combined loan to values such as 10% down up to $1,900,000 purchase price.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
I try to keep clients informed of the process and when they need to respond to emails etc. With TRID it is more client Interactive which is a good thing. I have a team available so they can always reach someone to answer their questions.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
That when you ask for paperwork you will not need additional paperwork.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
Normally I give people the information of loans etc. If GR has something for my buyers, great, let me see it.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
Borrowers need to give us the paperwork we request up front. That makes underwriting so much easier.

Grew up Catholic in the Midwest total 5 sisters. My mom is 94 years old and a sweetheart. My husband and I try to make sure We see her weekly or more.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Making people happy and get their dream home.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
Hiking, travelling and being with my family.
