How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
Wow, has the Home Loan business changed since 1992. When I started, we wrote the applications by hand with a pen and it was a timely process. Now Guaranteed Rate's Digital Mortgage can take an application and have an approval in minutes.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
Be prepared and send your requested documents in as quickly as possible. We will ask for 2 years of tax returns and W2's, 30 days of paystubs, and two months of bank statements (All pages). We may ask for additional information as well. Get the stuff into us immediately.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
There is nothing more satisfying about this job than having a client refer in a friend, family, or co-worker for their next Home Loan.
