When I bought my first home I remember the feeling I had. What made me get into the business was the feeling I felt that day and my passion to want everyone to have that same feeling. I have grown my business on providing my customers an incredible experience. Buying a home or refinancing an existing one can be intimidating and at times overwhelming. I have been in the industry over 11 years. With my experience I am able to streamline the process to make it a stress free, easy process. My routine communication through out the process will never leave a customer in doubt on where the loan is in the process. My goal is always to have positive outcomes with every transaction. Because of my loyalty and dedication to my business I received an award of the top mortgage professional by the Illinois Mortgage Banker Association.

How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
11 years in the business and my passion to allow consumers to own a home for their families.
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
First time home buyers. They always ask me about the process and what they can expect
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I spend a lot of time communicating with the customers to understand their wants and goals. I will educate them on the products that fit their needs and goals to make sure the customer is 100 satisfied.

What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
A fixed rate will allow a fixed principle and interest payment over the life of the loan. This will help with someone looking for set P.I. payment. An ARM is only fixed for a set period of time and then will adjust after that initial period which can increase the payment making the payments not affordable.
Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
I had a customer that went through the process and towards the end the customer made a large purchase which caused their debt to income to exceeds the thresholds. I reviewed the customers credit report and saw they had a car payment with 13 months left. I requested to have them pay 3 payments right away which brought their remaining payments under the amount where we can exclude the payment. By doing that they were approved for the mortgage and were extremely happy.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
If they are looking to purchase a home and looking to have a mortgage payment at XXXX, I would see if they have money saved and if not take the mortgage payment they want and see if they can save that amount of money for the next 3 months.
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
Reverse mortgages are a product that a lot of consumers are unaware of.
How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
The industry has changed a lot. There was a time where limited to no documentation was needed to get a mortgage and now it requires full documentation.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Understanding the process and taking the time to educate the customer.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
Its very time consuming, I need a 740 credit score, and I need 20% down
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I would always recommend them sitting down with a mortgage professional to understand what their goals are. Provide them with the settlement booklet which outlines the process and expectations.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
It's very important to provide the mortgage professional with all the documentation right away. If throughout the process they are asking for additional documentation to get that in a timely manner.
Are you active in any local associations or community groups, and at what level? What goals and/or success have you helped these groups achieve?
IMBA- the organization creates awareness and education towards the mortgage industry

I was raised in the suburbs in Illinois. I have a wife, son and a daughter.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I love being able to assist consumers in the home ownership process or refinancing their current mortgage into a lower payment to allow extra money for those things that were not affordable or reducing their mortgage term to pay their mortgage off sooner.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I enjoy golfing and skydiving in the summer. I spend time with my family going boating, snowmobiling or just doing things around the house
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I like to skydive, I have bowled a perfect game, still trying to get that hole in one and I have never been to Las Vegas.
