Kim Koetzle – Mortgage Consultant – Kim controls the upfront part of the process. From the time, you have an accepted contract until she submits your loan to underwriting, Kim is your primary contact. She will send all loan disclosures over via Docusign invite you to TransferSafe (our secure document system) to upload all required supporting documents. Kim also submits your loan file to underwriting.

Sue Roederer – Loan Coordinator – Sue is responsible for the back end of the loan process after the underwriter has given your loan the initial approval. She will review the loan approval and connect with you to request additional information if needed. Sue will work with you to get the loan back to underwriting for the “clear to close”. She then submits the loan file to our closing team to coordinate getting your loan to our closing department and on to the title company for closing.

Ben Treat – Operations Assistant – Ben assists Kim and Sue in all initial documentation submissions, interacts with you Docusign and TransferSafe programs and assisting in final conditions. Robb interview Q&A

How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the mortgage business for 20 years. Helping customers achieve their financial goals and objectives and more importantly their buying or refinancing their dream home is what really excites me about being in the mortgage business.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
The biggest question most customer facing most customers is how much they can afford. In many cases, customers haven’t thought about how much a house in the price range they are looking at really costs them in terms of a monthly payment. My first part of my job is to walk customers through how much the house is going to cost in terms of monthly payment, down payment, closing costs and prepaid expenses. The second part is what financing options exist and the pros and cons of each financing option. The third part is to getting them through the loan application process with all the documentation that goes with it.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
My advice to first time homebuyers is to figure out how much you can afford on monthly and how much house payment that translates into. Second, not to buy so much home that they have to significantly change their life style.
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
Most homebuyers don’t know about the no Mortgage Insurance (MI) option on conventional loans. In most cases the monthly payment is less with the no MI option than with a conventional loan with MI or a FHA loan with MI.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Most homebuyers struggle with the documentation part of the home loan process. All the documentation now required is unnerving to most buyers. Second, telling their whole story upfront to a loan officer so that their loan can be properly structured given the customers unique set of circumstances. Most customers don’t understand that the little details make a huge difference in today’s financing world.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
My greatest satisfaction as a loan officer is see the joy in customers’ faces when they close are their new home. First time home buyers, in particular, are just fun to watch as they walk out the closing room door seemingly bouncing off the ceiling. It is a true honor and pleasure to be involved in assisting customers in the purchase or refinance of their home.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I am an avid reader and history nut. Our last vacation we saw where the Civil War ended, the Revolutionary War ended and the first permanent English Settlement in North America. Thankfully, I have a very understanding wife!
