What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
When talking to a new customer my main goal is to communicate with them to get the main reasons why they are either looking to purchase a new home or refinance. It is very important to me to understand a complete picture of a customer’s goals and overall situation so I can come up with the best options for their particular situation.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
My main advice for a new or first-time home buyer would be to get Preapproved first! Knowing what you can get approved for and talking about the different options available is crucial to finding the right home. Getting the preapproval first gives my clients confidence in going out and finding a great home that they can qualify for and putting an offer in on the home. The power of the preapproval is huge!
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
Communication throughout the entire process is huge to make it a smooth process. My team and I pride ourselves on being transparent with our clients so they know exactly where their loan is at in the process and what’s needed out of them to get to the next step in the process to ultimately get their loan closed in a fast and seamless process.
Summary of where you grew up: family, affiliations, college, high school, etc.
I grew up in a small town in Central Minnesota about 2 hours north of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Growing up I was involved in a variety of different sports, organizations, and clubs. Ultimately it was the sport of hockey that I had a passion for and wanted to play at the collegiate level. I played three years of Junior hockey 2 of which were in Nebraska and one in Iowa. After my last year of junior hockey, I accepted an athletic scholarship to play hockey at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. After graduating college, I moved back to Minnesota where I explored a variety of different jobs until I landing in the mortgage industry. Real estate and financing have always been a passion of mine so I figured that the mortgage industry would be a great fit for me. I enjoy all the daily challenges in the mortgage industry, but ultimately my main passion is helping people into the best possible financial positing with one of the most important purchase of their life’s.
