Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I work with a lot of first time homebuyers. I work hard to educate them so that the process makes sense.
Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
I once did a purchase loan for a property that had a private family graveyard on the property. We had to have that little piece turned into an easement prior to closing.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
There is no such thing as a stupid question. If you need to know, I will answer.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
The waiting is the most difficult part for many clients. They need to be reasured that while they themselves aren't doing anything, we are working hard on their file.
Are you active in any local associations or community groups, and at what level? What goals and/or success have you helped these groups achieve?
We have been foster parents for 10 years. In that time, we have fostered 82 children, some for a short period, some for a longer period. Three of those are staying forever as they are now adopted.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I love to hike with my family and work in my gardens. We have an aquaponics system, which used recirculated fish water to grow organic vegetables.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I am committed to life long learning. I try to learn something new everyday.
