After serving 8-years in the United States Air Force in England and Germany, it was time for me to come home and make a career change decision. I was fortunate to have a close friend in the mortgage industry who encouraged me to consider mortgage financing. This is how my mortgage career began. I have always been good with numbers and I liked the idea of a new challenge. 29 years later, I am still in the mortgage industry and loving every moment!
Half way through my career as a VP at a local Community Bank, I started working with a group of real estate investors here in the Pacific Northwest, and realized that this specialty was truly my calling. I resigned from my position as a Vice President and began working as a loan officer specializing in the field of real estate investors. I have molded my business to serve real estate investors nationwide which helped me become a leader in this field. I have won numerous awards throughout my career, but my most notable achievement was receiving a call from the producer of Moving America Forward (hosted by William Shatner) asking me to be a guest on their show. However, what gives me the most satisfaction on the job, is my relationship with my customers and business partners. Many people ask me how did I developed relationships across the United States and how did I maintain them? The answer is many airlines miles and hotel stays. Nothing better to meet people on a one on one basis to build long lasting working relationship. I tell people I am like an old politician, shaking hands and kissing the babies. My core values are, excellent customer service, industry knowledge based on facts and good old fashion hard work.
On a personal note, my wife, Maria and I have been married for over 37 years. We have 4 wonderful grown children and 3 grandchildren. I am an accomplished drummer and recently started to play the Vibraphone and study under one of Seattle’s greatest Vibraphone instructor. Jazz Improvisation, Classical Music and jogging are my stress release activities.
