When I graduated University of Southern California in 1992, I pursued what I liked and had a passion for and majored in: Real Estate Finance.
Since then, I have seen a lot of changes in the sales and financing side of real estate but one thing never changes- Deliver honest, sincere, genuine customer service and you'll have clients for life.
Since I've been in the real estate finance business, I have won many presidents council awards; I appreciate those, but the best compliments are the customers calling me years later and expressing their appreciation for their decision they made because of the time and facts spent in making those decisions.
One such example is the tough decision a client had in deciding to go 15 year fixed or 30 year fixed. They could afford the monthly payment for 15 year fixed, but it was tough. They were into the 6th year of the loan and decided to rent their home. The tenant who moved in upon the owners departure to Colorado covered the monthly principal, interest, taxes and insurance. That tenant is still there and the loan is paid off. Because of this, the client receives $2500 per month and is turning 50 years this year. What a great birthday present and it only cost him an extra $285 per month for those first 6 years.
I always say the best interest rate is zero and the best decisions are those made in conjunction with a person across who shares the same desire to accomplish the goal as the customer expressing the concerns to secure their financial future.
