About Steven

I have been in the mortgage business for several years as a Branch Manager. I started because I was frustrated with the communication process that I was getting from loan originators while I was a Realtor.

My wife, London, and I owned a successful Real Estate company in Denham Springs which is just outside of Baton Rouge. After several years of continual growth, we had an amazing opportunity to merge with Keller Williams Premier Partners Realty. It was during this time that I grew frustrated with the mortgage process and lack of communication. After the merger, I decided to change into the mortgage industry with a commitment to provide the smoothest process and the best communication.

I have lived in Baton Rouge for over 45 years. I went to Episcopal High School and graduated in 1985. I went to Northwood University in Dallas, TX and graduated in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in business management. Upon graduation I went into the automobile business where I spent 18 years in upper management before starting the Real Estate Company.

I am married to my beautiful wife, London, and have 4 amazing children, Elizabeth, Victoria and twins, Mickey and Faith. I love the New Orleans Saints and am a HUGE LSU fan. When I am not spending time with the family or working I enjoy playing golf.

What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
When I receive the application from a client, I interview them and ask about theri wants and needs and what best fits their budget structure. I try to find a program that will fit their criteria. Communication is key and I try to make sure they are contacted throughout the process.
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
The renovation loans that we offer in FHA 203k and Fannie Homestyle loans. It's a great opportunity to take a house that may be a little out dated and make it the dream home you want with the renovation included in the mortgage.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Not knowing what is going on in the process. I try very hard to make sure I am in constant contact with both the Realtor and the buyers so they know what is happening each step of the process. Communication is key.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Helping clients reach their goal of home ownership. It's always special to help the First Time Homeowner or the single mom get into the home that they want.
