How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
Many years ago, I began my career in mortgage servicing. I spent 7 years working for an affluent Newport Beach real estate law firm. I worked while I went to school at Cal State Fullerton and University of California at Irvine. I've been back in the mortgage industry for 3 years writing loans. It is my passion to help people buy their first homes, and to help improve clients' financial situations through refinance.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
My advice to a first time home buyer is to call me. Most important decisions require research and time. The first time home buyer needs to know what is required to be successful at it. It's interesting to note that most of my first time home buyers have been financially ready for a long time and they just don't know it.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
I always tell my borrowers for a smooth underwriting process we need to know everything about their financial history. People need to know that the underwriting team will see everything anyway. Telling your loan officer your whole story will help overcome most issues up front.
Are you active in any local associations or community groups, and at what level? What goals and/or success have you helped these groups achieve?
My husband and I currently run the Plymouth-Canton Ski Club. I have been involved for over 20 years. We take kids from 6th through 12th grade skiing Friday and Saturday nights. We have an average of about 500 students every year.
I have been a committee member for the Canton Cup for years. It is one of the largest soccer tournaments in the county.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I have had basically the same hair style most of my life.
