How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
Frankly, I was motivated to enter the mortgage business because I was uncomfortable with just how much I didn't know about financing options. There are opportunities for home ownership that I was quite unaware of, and I am consistently inspired by offering those opportunities to others.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
I would advise all new home buyers to keep an open mind! There might be options available that don't require as hefty of a down payment as we all initially assume, and it could be possible to stop renting and getting into a mortgage much earlier than many expect.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
Always be diligent about responding to requests for documents or information. Time flies quickly when a loan is being processed, and many inconvenient delays can be avoided with clear, open communication and quick action on the parts of both the loan officer and the borrower.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I graduated with a master's degree in voice and am a retired dancer, so I still love to spend time in the artistic community as often as possible!
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I am also a musician, so we tend to be a bit "wacky" in general. ;-) I love participating in improv and musical theatre whenever I have the opportunity.
