About Tim

I am a dedicated mortgage professional, with 12 years experience in this awesome industry. I graduated from Claflin University in 2003, with a Bachelors in Biology, and really had no inclination to originate mortgage loans. Nonetheless, a good friend introduced me to the business in 2004 and thus my journey began. My passion for the industry stems from knowing that each of us associates the "American Dream" with homeownership. My wholehearted belief says that the process of a mortgage transaction is one which should be engaging, educational, and exciting!

What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
In order to be in this business, you've got to know your products and guidelines. There are many originators that try to fit all customers in one box. The mortgage transaction, typically, is the biggest financial decision that an individual will make in their lifetime. Utilizing the wrong home loan program is the equivalent of losing money in a major investment. I always make sure that I take enough time vetting a customer's overall goals and individual profile to assure proper placement in a mortgage product.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
I'd say ask the tough questions. Although this may be your first mortgage transaction, it probably won't be your last. Embrace the journey of homeownership, and educate yourself thoroughly along the way.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I would definitely recommend Guaranteed Rate's "Demystifying the Mortgage Process". Most people fear what they don't understand, and this is a good read to get a customer acclimated to what the loan process entails.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I enjoy teaching the process and spending time answering the tough questions.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
Most all of my clients are now good friends of mine. The relationship continues after the closing because of the initial rapport building, the text and phone calls at midnight, and showing up for events that matter to my client in their personal lives. I treat my clients like family.
